No good, terrible, very bad week

What can I say? It's been one of those weeks that I pretty much dislike everything about being a stay home mom. If someone called and offered me a job that payed enough to cover the cost of daycare, I'd take it.

Grace is on a sleep strike. She has gone from going to bed at 6 o'clock and sleeping straight through to screaming her head off for four to five hours at a time and then not napping during the day. I live in a 1,900 square foot Cape. There is no getting away from her howls. She is sleeping right now, but if she wakes up, I have decided to take my movie, Bella, out to the minivan and watch it there. Not kidding.

Sam is currently in the bathroom pooping in a diaper. Since Saturday he has refused to use the toilet. I have refused to give him a diaper. This has resulted in several incidents of pooping in his pants. I cannot take it anymore. I caved. He won.

That's my vent. That's what we've been up to. I know in the grand scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal and I feel bad complaining. But I am frustrated and I am tired and Brad isn't home, and if I didn't sit and write this down, I was going to cry....so thanks for listening.

I am so with you, girl! I have been having that kind of a week too. I have decided that when they all start whining and crying, I am going to lock myself in a closet with my Bible, so I can get my spirits right, and not come out until I do (which means that I will still be in a closet when Daddy gets home from work- that should be interesting!!!!!!)

I tried to comment last night but wasn't "signed in"...so annoying! I understand and I'm sorry that you've had a rough week. I say you get a one way to Baltimore from Friday night to Sunday afternoon by yourself and we'll have some fun :-)

That would be a "direct flight" not a one way. Although, it might be more fun if it was a one way, ha!!!!

I am sorry - even as a working mom I can feel your pain. At work I have deadlines and schedules and INSANE early morning hours of 5 am - the rush home, then the hungry kids the whining and fighting and crying. And then bedtime before we have to do it all again.
Hang in there, sleep deprivation can really upset your outlook on life!!

Thanks girls. I appreciate the encouragement!

Beth, I am checking to see if Southwest still has cheap flights to Baltimore out of Manchester, NH. I may show up at your door.

I've been there, too, and it's very stretching, to say the least. Sometimes when Daddy's gone my kids' saddness turns into bad behavior. Maybe they miss Brad as much as you do. When I get in this place, I take a few minutes and read Psalm 42, Phil. 4:19, 1 Pet. 5:7, Phil. 4:13, John 3:30, Mark 10:45, Matt. 24:25, John 15:12-13. Then I plead with the Lord to save me both from my situation and myself! I'll be praying for you.

Sarah, that would be the best surprise EVER!

Oh, I flew to Manchester 8 months ago or so then drove to the middle of nowhere (Berlin, HN beautiful, though) with a very annoying man that wouldn't stop talking.

The airport seemed quaint! I think you should pay it a visit!

Umm, hello? I'll go to L.A. and visit Bethany with you :-) I've got family there, in San Fran and in Red Bluff, we'd have a blast :-) Wait, do you still nurse Grace?

Here is a HUGE hug, and a LARGE glass of wine.

I totally understand both strikes...because my child has done both. I know it is frustrating and maddening.

Boys are the hardest to get to poop in the potty. They are stubbornm kind of like their daddys I think.

Do you need some coffee? I will send you a bag to perk you up!

Hang in there and remember for every season like this there is a better one coming. Yes, this will end and you will survive. It's not easy being a mom. But you know what? You are God's perfect mom for these kids- that's why He gave them to you! You are doing a great job, Sarah!!!!

More thank you's everyone....my mom has been here for the last few days and she is wonderful. I pretty much get to sit back and do nothing :)

I wish I could afford a ticket to LA right now, but I can't...if I could I would be on a plane with Beth in a second! And yes, Grace still nurses a little, but it's time to stop. What better way to ween than have mommy leave for a while?

Oh, Sarah. I have just checked in with you! I am sorry that you had such a yucky mom day.

It is not always fun, that's for sure and you need to vent sometimes. Especially to other moms that totally understand where you are coming from.

No sleep is awful. Potty issues are a close second. Hang in there.
It will be much better soon!

I am glad you wrote this instead of crying but certainly would understand if you still did so!

BTW, I bought the movie Bella 2 weeks ago and have yet to watch it.
