Grace is Seven months old...yesterday!

That's Madeline, our friend Sarah and Andy's little girl...she's about 3 months old...her brother Ben is one of Sams' best friends.

She's huge...sit's up great, can't crawl but gets wherever she needs to go, has two teeth, loves to eat food (Sam never ate baby food...he was strictly a boob man...) and has yet to sleep for an entire night!

Rainy Weekend...

I've never been a big fan of rainy days, but now that I have kids (particularly Sam...) I loathe them. A rainy day used to mean that you could sleep in without feeling guilty...now it means that you are up at 6:30 and stuck inside for the next fifteen or so hours! It's been pouring for the last three days...supposed to see some sun tomorrow, and I can't wait!

We did manage to go out for a little while this morning and have some fun. It was "Touch a Truck" day in town. There was a steady drizzle for the entire event and at the end a soaking downpour...I don't think Sam noticed, he had so much fun.

Cutting down trees...

My parents came up at the beginning of May to visit...dad also brought a chain saw to help take down some trees (we have a virtual forest on our 1/4 acre lot...). I was nervous the entire time...we did have one incident where the chain saw kicked back and came crashing out of a tree, thankfully nobody was hurt...and hopefully, we'll have some sun in the backyard!

Grace was unphased by the noise...Sam kept his ears covered for the better part of the day...such a boy!

What we've been doing....

Haven't posted too much lately...been busy and Grace has been less and less happy to just hang out while I sit at the computer (or do anything for that matter). We've been busy! Had a couple of nice beach days, put Sam on roller skates, lots of dinners on the deck and my parents came up to visit. Brad and my dad cut down lots of trees in our backyard (That's a separate collage! )

Spring Flowers...

Anyone know what this is? I should take a picture of the whole tree...Kind of looks like an apple blossom, but it just turns to little red berries...


This is it for tulips this year...I think all the cold weather killed them...lots of green, but not too many bloomed. They're pretty though!

Sam's never had hair this short...

not even when he was born! After one too many bad $16 to $20 haircuts, I decided to take matters into my own hands (free bad haircuts don't hurt so much)...I thought I could just thin it out a little...but he ended up with a buzz cut. Afterwards, when I had him look in the mirror...he started crying hysterically..."I don't like it mommy, I want my hair back!" Don't get me wrong, I'd cry too if someone gave me the same style...but I didn't know that vanity kicked in before three!

Every time I look at him, I do a double take...doesn't he look just like Jason when he was little? I have to find a picture to put up here...I also think he looks a lot like Jay's little boy Isaiah..
