Today, it was a balmy 60 degrees! So we did what all New Englanders do when the sun peeks out to warm our cold bones. We headed to the beach! Sam wanted to pack a picnic and bring his bathing suit, but we're not that crazy or sun starved. Yet.I WISH she was looking at the camera for this one. She won't. She's pretty much telling me here to put the darn camera away and let her play. The fact that she can get out of her bed and play, or shake her door, is apparently much more enjoyable than sleeping. I'm no longer able to just read her a story and then tuck her in and walk away. Instead, we read three stories, I beg, I promise treats, we pray....sometimes it works. The other day as I held her, she began to rub my breast and look at me Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01277899436188762380noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-897762751184528082.post-72282584837213692232008-11-13T21:36:00.003-05:002008-11-13T22:29:39.536-05:00The unthinkable happened todayI put Grace in her crib for a time out and she climbed out. She called my name from the top of the stairs and proudly announced, "I got out. By myself! Huh!" and stomped her little foot.I am undone. It's quite possible that I will never get more than 3 straight hours of sleep again.Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01277899436188762380noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-897762751184528082.post-15729866190434388132008-11-08T21:15:00.006-05:002008-11-08T21:26:10.523-05:00Rock On!My nephew Ian is a rock star.Okay. We snuck out after she went to bed. This morning, he told Grace "I didn't go anywhere last night. I just went to bed. Okay?"When my sister in law called and asked what his favorite part of the show was, Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01277899436188762380noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-897762751184528082.post-2222206675109454102008-11-01T21:38:00.004-04:002008-11-01T21:49:51.967-04:00"Twick or Tweat"My dinosaur and Tinkerbell, AKA "Faiwy Pwincess" had so much fun trick-or-treating last night. Grace carried her weight in candy (the handle on her plastic pumpkin actually broke. A nice neighbor taped it back together for us) and stayed up way past her bed time. This morning, when we asked what she wanted to do, she suggested, "twick or tweating"?Hope everyone had fun!Sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01277899436188762380noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-897762751184528082.post-77423471164397008362008-10-25T20:10:00.005-04:002008-10-28T20:56:31.937-04:00My Baby is TwoDear Grace,Where or where have the last two years gone? Apparently, every other family within 100 miles of the orchard had the same idea. It was crowded, hot and miserable. Plus, there was a 30 minute wait to get on the hayride that took you out to the "open" orchard. I decided we'd hold off on the apple picking and just hand out. Sam was devastated...and it just kept getting worse and worse. Yesterday, was the first time that we took our kids there. They loved it. Do you suppose he looked in the mirror before he headed to the beach and thought to himself, "Self, I look good!"?2. Do you think he ever experiences self-doubt, self-consciousness or self-awareness?3. What's your best guess as to what's playing on that ipod? I'm think something by Right Said Fred....I'm to sexy for this beach......4. Notice, the ipod is tucked into the "bathing suit".
