"Mommy, this is the best cake in the world. Know why? Because you're the best mommy in the world."

Guess who got another piece of cake? He's good, really good.

Could you sleep like this?

Sadly, I think I could.

This is the only way mommy gets a break these days. I just let them lay where they fall...he slept for an hour and forty minutes....then he wet his pants and woke up.

The conversation we had when he woke up went something like this.

"Mommy, why you left me on the floor?"

"Your just too heavy to carry (meaning, there was no chance in hell I was going to risk waking you up.).

"Oh. I all wet. Someone must have spilled water on me."

"Sam, who would have done that?"

"I dunno, but I didn't go pee pee. I just got all wet."

Okay, whatever you say buddy....I had to clean the rug and give him a bath, but that is so much easier than dealing with an overtired three year old!

Lunch Bunch....bring your own lunch...

A few weeks ago, okay so it was last week, a note came home from school saying that today was "Lunch Bunch". Meaning, that after school, there would be a picnic for the kids, their siblings and parents. You're supposed to bring your own peanut free lunch and hang out...Guess who forgot? Yup, that would be Moi...

I had to get to MOPS this morning for 8:00 so Brad dropped Sam off at school. There was a reminder up on the message board (I like to think that other parents would have forgotten if they hadn't seen the reminder...), but Brad either didn't see it or, saw it, had no idea what it meant and didn't think to call me. So I showed up with no food, no drinks and no blanket. Grace is a scavenger by nature and made out pretty well. Sam, who doesn't eat at home...walked around telling the other moms that he was hungry and his mom didn't bring any food....I love making good first impressions.

New Government Study...

I may just be really over tired, but I keep giggling every time I think about this....I think it's safe to say that panties really can't get any smaller!

Happy Birthday Mom!
(one day late...)

Mom,
Becoming a mother has made me appreciate and respect you more than I ever did before. In fact, I often think about the way that you raised me and I am in complete awe. You make being selfless look so easy.

Thanks for showing me what unconditional love looks like. There was a time that I didn't understand this...I thought you were weak, when in fact you were stronger than I have ever been. Thanks for being a woman of faith and prayer. As much as I'd like to think that I am responsible for who I am today, I know that it is God's grace and the blessings that you spoke over me in the middle of the night that got me to this place.

I celebrate your life today (well, yesterday...) I wish you a wonderful year full of love and smiles....

I love you mom. You are simply the best.

57:09

That's how long it took me to run 5.2 miles this morning. In the past, that run would have taken me about 41 minutes....but I'm looking at the bright side....I did almost a full hour of cardio!

Highlights of the run included the following:

Sam screaming "I have to pee, I have to pee!" eleven minutes and eight seconds into the run....When I asked, "Why didn't you try to go before we left, like I asked?" He replied, "I changed my mind." He said he couldn't wait so we stopped and he peed in someones front yard....

Miles 2-4 Sam repeatedly asked if he could get out and walk...I had my iPod so loud that it almost hurt and I could still hear him....

Miles 4-5 felt like it was completely uphill....I basically crawled up them pushing 60 pounds of miserable children....

Miles 5-5.2 I gave in and let Sam run with me....he went about 10 yards before he started screaming and crying, "Mommy, you're too fast, don't leave me!"

Yup, I can run faster than a three year old....
